Qld: Aboriginal community engages lawyers to fight grog limits
A Cape York Aboriginal community has instructed lawyers to pursue a legal challenge
to strict alcohol limits due to be imposed on residents from March the 3rd.
The Community Justice Group at Mapoon, 85km north of Weipa on the western cape, opposes
the limit of one carton of light to mid-strength beer and two litres of wine per vehicle.
But Premier PETER BEATTIE has vowed to fight any legal challenge, saying he supports
all indigenous people …
