NT: ALP claims victory in NT election = 2

The territory's Labor Party president Charlie Phillips said both ALP and Country Liberal
Party scrutineers agreed Labor had won an absolute majority in the territory's 25-seat
Legislative Assembly.

He said Labor had won the Darwin seat of Millner, the final undecided seat after Saturday's
election.

"We can't lose," Mr Phillips said.

The seat of Millner would give Labor 13 seats, with the CLP 10 and independents two.

Labor candidate in Millner, Matthew Bonson, was 68 votes ahead of CLP incumbent Phil
Mitchell with only 70 postal votes yet to be counted, Mr Phillips said.

The poll will be declared after final postal votes are counted on Friday night.
