QLD:Adios to La Nina, but more rain expected

Forecasters say the La Nina weather pattern that's seen Queensland cop weeks of flooding
and three cyclones has passed its peak .. but the rain will continue.

The Weather Channel says the wet weather pattern peaked in January and is expected
to peter out by winter .. with only a slight chance of it lingering for the rest of the
year.

Meteorologist TOM SAUNDERS says it's one of the strongest flooding years on record.

Although it's passed its peak .. the global weather pattern is still tipped to bring
wide-spread rain to Australia over the coming months .. particularly the northern tropics
.. the Queensland coast and most of New South Wales.
